Wonderful pintail capture, Steve! A bit of an unusual confrontation between the two drakes. The onlooker doesn't seem to be involved with the disagreement.:-)

Many thanks, Mike! It was a gag me with a spoon moment.;-)a

Hi Mark...

This is a great photograph with sharp focus, wonderful perch and a super background.

Here is a little something from today, a colorful and noisy fellow. Taken with the 70-200mm f/2.8l is ii with 1.4x extender ii. Somewhat better conditions today, lighting conditions better with high clouds, bright cloudy. Did notice the camera did rack focus in and out with the background.

Hack clone stamp clean up on the post to make it somewhat more presentable.

Tried the Sigma 150-600 and had similar issues as previous outing, couldn't get any out of it, almost wanted to toss the lens in the pond. The 70-200 a little better but not great. Was in ai servo, pretty high shutter speed.

At least I got something I suppose. Not sure what this colorful Birdy is

Very nice shot of the double banded American Oystercatcher, sogs!

Thank you very much. I submitted the band numbers for three different Oystercatchers to the American Oystercatcher Work Group. I can track where they have been. This one has been from Florida to Connecticut.

Northern saw-whet owl. Only the third one I’ve seen so far this year.

Only three this year???? Like you plan on seeing 10???? I'd be happy with one in my lifetime! :-D You're so lucky. That's a beautiful shot! Hope you see many more.

Burrowing Owl - some interesting facts concerning this little owl.
Unlike most other owls, burrowing owls are diurnal, or most active during the day. They are very energetic, bobbing up and down when they perch.
They are the only small owl species to perch on the ground and are so terrestrial that when disturbed, they will often run or flatten themselves against the ground, rather than fly away.
Camera: Sony Alpha 1 March 9, 2023

Excellent capture! My regret is that the last time I had gone to Florida I didn't know how prevalent Burrowing Owls are in Cape Coral. I'll be ready the next time I go.

Thank you very much sogs! I saw more last year once I learned how to look for them, this year has been slower. This was the first one I spotted myself this year so it’s seemed especially slow for myself personally.
They are gorgeous, tiny little owls, I always get excited seeing one so I hope so too!
