Thanks, Mike! Right, house sparrow is basically everywhere now. Spanish sparrow is a much more restricted species. It lives in Southerns Europe, North Africa and Middle East.

Little Egret (Egretta garzetta nigripes) in breeding flush. Note the reddish lores, long plumes from the back of its head, and streaming plumes from its breast and rump. Incidentally, the slightly out-of-focus young Pied Heron is in transition from white-headed juvenile (like the very out-of-focus bird further back) to dark grey-headed adult plumage.
