Colours of water and bird complement each other beautifully.

Richard, this is definitely one of your very best! What a charming shot! You gotta put this one on the wall.

Straw-necked ibis and Australian white ibis cross paths at the lake at the University of Queensland.

This is a beautiful shot, Pippan! Great timing to capture both of these ibis's crossing paths.

What a killer shot, Bill! Such a gorgeous bird!

Superb sharpness and detail in this close-up mocker shot, Tom!

Nice one, Ken! The low camera angle really enhances the overall shot.

Liking the head tilt Mike

Thank you Rob. And yeah, I kept this shot because I liked the head tilt too.

avondale87 wrote in post #19264342 (external link)
Well Mike, it's a very intelligent looking bird obviously found some thing to capture its interest.
Meanwhile you've taken a beautiful photo of it in a very appealing pose.
Lovely photo.

This is such a nice compliment, Richard. I sincerely thank you. I really enjoy these entertaining black phoebe's. Due to their antiques, I'm reminded of your delightful superb fairy-wrens.

So interesting to see Western versions of related birds we have in the East. Mike, you caught its head at a great angle, as if it's inspecting you...really nice touch.

Like, you Steve, I'm always interested in seeing the differences between the eastern and western varieties of our related birds. I thank you for your kind comments about this shot...much appreciated.

Awesome shot, Dennis! Love the grebe's pose. I even like this one better than the grebe image you posted on the "show me your best are you looking at me shots."

Thanks Mike, the little guy was posing quite nicely for me, compared to their often far away, middle of the lake location, where even a 1,000mm lens would be too short.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Richard...

All of your Superb Fairy Wren photographs have been wonderful, but this one is especially well done. You've captured a tender moment in the avian world with great skill.

Mike and Rob I'm going to put together a series of my birds and get them into a book for my self. Also I've picked out some favourites and will get them printed and mounted in some Tasmanian Native timber frames I've machined.
That's a project in making.

Pippan these Ibis are beautiful. I was introduced to them in Townsville years ago.

Beautiful photo of this attractive Gallinule in its natural setting.
They are very striking birds and similar to our Bald Coots as ours are known.
