I got into a habit of explaining such shots (calling them record shots) due to certain people's reactions to shots like that on other sites in the past. Apparently, some people are real sticklers for perfection and if I didn't say it was a 'record shot' they would critique the living hell out of it, to the point I had doubts about posting them for fear of having to explain myself once again. Not saying they're pixel peepers, but they are overly critical for shots on the web and not in a contest. Did you get any shots of snowy egrets? At a distance or if you aren't paying close attention, a white morph can be mistaken for a snowy. When I first saw this one in the water, I couldn't see its legs, just it's bill and I had to look really close for the pinkish color. When I saw that I was pretty sure it was one and when it came out of the water, I didn't see any yellow feet, so I was positive at that point. Check your pics real close, it's possible you captured it and didn't realize it. if you didn't I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't see it the week before so I guess I got lucky that it showed up that day.
