Thanks so much, Kirk! I really appreciate your compliment. The shot was taken late afternoon, around 5 o'clock.

Thank you, Ken.

Thank you kindly, Rich.

Thank you sogs. That's a strong possibility.:p

A good time of day to shot right now.

Fantastic, Ed! You really nailbed this shot perfectly!

Thanks and thanks for the comments, Mike.

Kirk, never even begin to apologize for a terrific shot like this. I for one really enjoy it, and think it's a great shot of aerial display between these two birds.

Outstanding Green Heron capture, Jimmy! Nicely lit, sharp image.

Definitely no flaws with this shot, Kirk. You captured this Whimbrel so beautifully!

Cute shot of these little goslings, sogs!

Absolutely love these two shots of the Yellow Warbler, Matt! I'd rate your first shot as absolutely spectacular. It definitely belongs in a frame, and hung on the wall at a prominent location.

Stunning drake Wood Duck capture, fotoi! Not a single feather out of place.

This razor sharp shot of the Green Heron is simply outstanding, Ed!

Terrific capture of the Blue Jay, SYS! The image sharpness is very nice.

Fantastic, Ed! You really nailbed this shot perfectly!

Beautiful, Jan! I'd simply title it "Yellow".

Stupendous shot of the Gila Woodpecker, Tom! I really like the composition.

Thanks for the super nice comments, Mike, you have no idea how much I really appreciate the one on the gulls. I got into a habit of explaining such shots (calling them record shots) due to certain people's reactions to shots like that on other sites in the past. Apparently, some people are real sticklers for perfection and if I didn't say it was a 'record shot' they would critique the living hell out of it, to the point I had doubts about posting them for fear of having to explain myself once again. Not saying they're pixel peepers, but they are overly critical for shots on the web and not in a contest. My 2 C worth, and thanks again.

I spent 2.5 days there last week and never saw it!!

Did you get any shots of snowy egrets? At a distance or if you aren't paying close attention, a white morph can be mistaken for a snowy. When I first saw this one in the water, I couldn't see its legs, just it's bill and I had to look really close for the pinkish color. When I saw that I was pretty sure it was one and when it came out of the water, I didn't see any yellow feet, so I was positive at that point. Check your pics real close, it's possible you captured it and didn't realize it. if you didn't I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't see it the week before so I guess I got lucky that it showed up that day. Those birds are like fish, here one day and gone the next.

Oh well, it's a good shot anyway!

Thanks, I tweaked it about as much as I could without it developing that crispy, over sharpened appearance you often see in pics.

Super color, it's just right, it looks very natural. The green is just awesome! Good job.
