Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | May 12, 2023 23:25 | #29560 K9Kirk wrote in post #19518145 Thanks for the super nice comments, Mike, you have no idea how much I really appreciate the one on the gulls. I got into a habit of explaining such shots (calling them record shots) due to certain people's reactions to shots like that on other sites in the past. Apparently, some people are real sticklers for perfection and if I didn't say it was a 'record shot' they would critique the living hell out of it, to the point I had doubts about posting them for fear of having to explain myself once again. Not saying they're pixel peepers, but they are overly critical for shots on the web and not in a contest. My 2 C worth, and thanks again. Here's what I think, Kirk. I have seen you post numerous pictures here on the POTN forums. You are without a doubt an excellent photographer. You don't have to prove a single thing. I believe that most people here would agree completely with me on that. I may be off base, but I really don't believe that people on these forums are sticklers for details. I think we all try to do our best, and some photographers are certainly better than others. I'm obviously impressed with the work of many folks here, but I've never had the impression that anyone was overly critical of shots on our forums. My advice is; just go out, have fun shooting, and post the ones you enjoy and like. As far as explaining your shots, a short description is definitely nice to hear. In addition to your photos, I think it's nice to know what you had to go through to get the shot(s). And that's my 2 C worth. LD, or Mike

Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | May 13, 2023 00:10 | #29562 Really nice shot of the Woody Woodpigeon who was obviously posing pompously on his perch, Ray! I like his green eye. Amazing shots of the Oriental pied-hornbill, RAL! dI especially like your second shot close-up. Beautiful drake mallard shot, fotoi! The added yellow color to this Burrowing Owl shot really makes for a sublime image Tom! Archibald wrote in post #19518144 Very nice shot of the killdeer! Well Ed, it's just a so so shot, but I thank you for the compliment. K9Kirk wrote in post #19518188 A snowy egret going after an itch instead of a fish on North Beach @ Ft De Soto. I think it was 2006 this beach was named best beach in the US. The Ospreys and the Snowy Egret are top notch, Kirk! My favorite is the Snowy Egret image. It's a beautiful, sharp shot, plus it made me smile. I agree on the Spotted Sandpiper, G88, and I also think it's an excellent shot!
