Wonderful capture, Pippan! The sharpness and low camera angle make this shot superb!

Thanks LD, appreciate the comment.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Sandhill Crane - Colt Three subpopulations of sandhill cranes are non-migratory. The Mississippi sandhill crane is found on the southeastern coast of Mississippi. Florida sandhill cranes occur in many inland wetlands of Florida. The Cuban sandhill crane lives exclusively in savannas, wetlands, and grasslands in Cuba. Mississippi and Cuban sandhill cranes are critically endangered. Images shot in Charlotte County, FL. May 15, 2023 Camera: Sony a7Rv.

Southern Yellow-Billed Hornbill - omnivorous bird has been made famous by the movie The Lion King, where it is used as a character named Zazu. It is distinguished by its very large, downwardly curved yellow beak, giving it the nickname of the "flying banana". The female's bill is shorter than that of the male, and the casque on the upper bill is also smaller. Photographed May 25, 2017 in South Africa. Camera: Canon 5D MK IV

Crested Barbets - They make their nests in the holes of trees or in a Sisal log found in gardens. These birds are territorial and also monogamous during mating season. The size of their territory often depends on their habitat. Eggs are laid between September and December with up to 5 eggs laid daily. After incubating for 13-17 days the young hatch from the eggs. The young are born naked and blind and are fed insects by both parents. Images Captured on May 25, 2017 in South Africa. Canon 5D MK IV

Very nice series Jonathan.
