Southern Yellow-Billed Hornbill - omnivorous bird has been made famous by the movie The Lion King, where it is used as a character named Zazu. It is distinguished by its very large, downwardly curved yellow beak, giving it the nickname of the "flying banana". The female's bill is shorter than that of the male, and the casque on the upper bill is also smaller. Photographed May 25, 2017 in South Africa. Camera: Canon 5D MK IV

Very nicely captured shot of the Pacific Swallow, RAL!

Very sharp, nicely captured shot of the Northern Rough-winged Swallow, Gene!

Terrific close-up shot of the Zebra Dove, RAL! Razor sharp image.

Lovely portrait shot of this female Superb Fairy Wren showing all the frost, Richard!

Great Canada Goose portrait shot, fotoi! Nice color.

Terrific shot of the Black-bellied Plover, Kirk! You frequently get low camera shots like this one. It make so much difference as far a overall appeal is concerned. Great work.

And yet another, beauty, Kirk! Stupendous shot of the Semipalmated Plover!

Your Slavonian Grebes are certainly gorgeous birds, Cap'n. Nice capture of this one.

Both of your shots of the Common Yellowthroat are very nicely done, flurp!

Thanks, Mike. I'm just glad that I'm still able to lay down and get back up without too much trouble.

Couple more from a previous outing. Google lens says this is a "say's Phoebe" was on the flighty side. Last few days and previous outings I've wondered if I'm cut out for bird photography. They are kind of fun to watch in the backyard though. Trying to photograph in the back yard however seems to be a bigger challenge, as the locals bolt very quickly when I try to capture
