Neal, this goose appears to be in molting phase. If I had to guess, I think it might be a bar-headed goose. I noticed, it's even wearing a green leg band (cool). Nice capture.

Many thanks for that, Mike. Appreciated. In my ignorance I was thinking it might be a cross breed! The tagging would probably be the conservation project closely monitoring most of the birds and wildlife here. Looking forward to the winter here when the migratory birds would be flocking here. So will most of the resident humans too!
