Thanks a lot, Jimmy. It was always difficult for me, too, until I learned to use the exp. comp. wheel and histogram on the camera. Watch some videos on histograms. I just expose as much as I can w/o blowing out the whites to bring out the detail in the black and make adjustments to the black in post until it's as natural looking as I can make it, or what looks good to me. I usually end up darkening the black because it's over exposed to begin with. Takes a little time to understand it and get it right but it will come. Keep playing with the controls and learn them well. That's the best advice I can give. GL!

Yeah, the Easterns weren’t very cooperative, but they were the only ones I’ve had a chance to photograph. I see lots of Spotteds around here.
