Really nice pose here, Mike! It's different from the average eagle image, but very appealing.

First time I have observed these behaviors in YCNH.
The first is "wing stretching". No idea what the second is.

He was close, 20 meters.
High, overcast sky, slightly cropped.

These two portrait shots are awesome, Mike! The low camera angle and the sharpness of the two images are so well done.

After a total of ~8 weeks (4 incubating, 4 on the nest) the fledgling MIKI finally left the nest and moved to a nearby tree. For comparison, the early nestling is also shown.

Well these are really lovely ducks in a beautiful setting.
The light and overall composition really makes this.

First post and actually first bird.

I was familiarizing myself with a new Tamron 28-200 lens for my Sony A7M2. I was sitting on my porch using a hummingbird feeder as a focal point. This little guy was nice enough to stop by for a visit. I think I missed the focus by a touch and with zero setup time, was shooting on automatic. I didn't think it was too bad for a rushed shot with a lens that hadn't been out of the box for 5 minutes.

Hi Cypress...

Welcome to the "Bird Portraits" thread and to POTN in general. Nice job on this one, and hope to see some more of your work in the weeks ahead.
