May 26, 2021 11:17 | #47 sidknee wrote in post #19240378 I've built a hide in the corner of a field that is about 3/4 mile away from any roads or buildings, the buzzards nest on the other side of a small valley and use the trees around the field here as perches to hunt for small rodents. I have provided this perch and occasionally also provide an easy meal for them, road kill or out of date food etc. It has taken over 3 years to start getting any decent photos here and generally the birds are only on my perch for a matter of seconds, blink and you miss!. I've spent a lot of hours sat in the hide to get the shots you see posted here. This bird for instance, the resident female, was on the perch for 4 seconds! (first to last shot).

Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | May 26, 2021 16:20 | #56 Bill in Texas wrote in post #19240391 ![]() Great shot of this American bittern, Bill! Out here in my area, they are terribly illusive birds. Bill in Texas wrote in post #19240392 ![]() Another really nice capture, Bill! Very nice close-up of this drake wigeon, fotoi! Great sharpness and lighting. Stupendous shot, Dave! Stunning shot, Steve! Especially attractive, due not only because of the oriole, but because of the subtle colors of the leaves, and the great background! LD, or Mike
