I've built a hide in the corner of a field that is about 3/4 mile away from any roads or buildings, the buzzards nest on the other side of a small valley and use the trees around the field here as perches to hunt for small rodents. I have provided this perch and occasionally also provide an easy meal for them, road kill or out of date food etc. It has taken over 3 years to start getting any decent photos here and generally the birds are only on my perch for a matter of seconds, blink and you miss!. I've spent a lot of hours sat in the hide to get the shots you see posted here.
This bird for instance, the resident female, was on the perch for 4 seconds! (first to last shot).

Lovely shot - and thank you for explaining that - I have a soft spot for buzzards hence why I try to photpograph them when ever they fly over or above me.

Thanks :) I have been trying for decent buzzard shots for as long as I've known what they were, early 90s over Devils Bridge, and only now am I getting close quarters stuff.

Great shot of this American bittern, Bill! Out here in my area, they are terribly illusive birds.

Another really nice capture, Bill!

Stunning shot, Steve! Especially attractive, due not only because of the oriole, but because of the subtle colors of the leaves, and the great background!

Excellent captures, and nice composition in both shots, John! I find the first image to be the most pleasing.

Outstanding, John!

Thank you Mike. You're always so kind.
