Rainbow Pita. These birds are my constant frustration. Their habitat is dense forest, they rarely come into the light and are very flighty. You can imagine my face when this guy let me shoot him for a whole minute in decent light!

Well done, Dan!

I sure can. It was probably similar to mine when I was able to capture the Blue-Grey Gantcatcher above. It's a nemesis bird for me. :-)

That’s a cracker shot. I love a good nemesis bird. Always keeps you hungry for that next trip.

Blue-Grey Gnat-catcher
These guys are typically "micro-missles". This one actually sat still for more than an instant and was kind enough to let both of us photograph it. I actually had to move back due to MFD.

Phil & Theresa these are beautiful. They are attractive little birds. I like the feather colour, looks rather unique

Lovely pose on that lichen covered branch

Simply beautiful. Nicely framed on the branch and those two diagonal streaks either side

Ed you've had fun and made the most of opportunities by the looks of things
This is an exceptional photo of a magnificent raptor

Some of the coolest little birds we saw in Colombia. A male (top) and female red headed barbet. Both really beautiful in their own way.
Cool and feisty red-headed barbet (Eubucco bourcierii) male
Beautiful red-headed barbet (Eubucco bourcierii) female

More beauty. Always nice to see male & female and see their differences.
These are stunning

This too is a striking and beautiful bird.
Setting and composition are very nice

Great shot Dan. It looks as astonished as you probably were! (BTW, did you deliberately spell the bird's name like 'Pain In The @rse'? :p

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.
