Still love to see a Robin pop into the garden, even if only for a few seconds as was the case here

I've been wanting to get a shot of a Bataleur pair for ages. I recently got the shot on a trip to the Kruger Park. This was shot on the S56 near Shingwedzi. It was a cloudy day which allowed for some great high key images of these two wonderful birds of prey.

These two shots are beautiful eye catchers, Charles. Splendid photography.

Thanks, Mike. I did a little research but couldn't find anything about viability in this hybrid. It's not the first one I've seen, and there are lots of pictures of at the Cornell site and around the internet, and Sibley even has a drawing of one in his guide. Apparently the two Goldeneye species have similar breeding behavior with the Hoodies, so mistakes happen.

I've known this cygnet since it was an egg! Its brown feathers are giving way to white ones every day and it will soon be off to fend for itself. Its mother (below) will soon be breeding again.

Lovely merlin shot, Steve! I'd surely love to get a crack at one of these fantastic little falcons. You've definitely posted some beauties.
