Hoary Redpoll from my brief time in northern Minnesota last week.

I realize this isn't the greatest image and that the twig appears to be growing out of the top of his head, but this is the first time I have ever seen this species - a true "lifer" for me.

Hopefully I will have more experiences with Hoary Redpolls in the future, and be able to capture better images.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Wow-Beautiful crisp detail and color.
Wish we had those out here.
Well done

Thanks James, they are a lovely little bird to be sure, though there are quite a few you've got that I wish were over here too! cheers! :)

A Gouldian Finch. Was happy to just see these little guys in the wild let along get a half-way decent photo :)

Ruby-crowned Kinglet

Lovely tiny bird in a typical inquisitive bird pose.
Sounds like they're not easy subjects to photo which makes this even more worthy.
Very nice

Great shots of these two, Richard! Pop is barely clinging to the last of his beautiful blue color. But I like him just as much as when he was all prettied-up.:-)

Two very nice captures, Richard! I'd love to see one of these guys in real life, just to understand how large they really are. Definitely interesting looking birds.

Many thanks Mike for your kind comments. :-) Yes the male wrens are still attractive and intriguing in this state

I'm sure many bird enthusiast would love to see those Wattlebirds in real life.
They are intriguing, colourful birds with character to boot

Really love these chickadees and your photo makes it easy to appreciate what a lovely little bird they are.
Very nicely composed

Northern Mockingbird

Mike I'm not sure how you could better that.
Beautiful. Details and composition are very nice.

First time see this bird. IMHO, they look better without wattles
Thanks for sharing.

They look better in the real as you see their actions, especially when they lift their head and strike up a tune. Also flitting about.
Some poses don't do them justice.

Eurasian bullfinch, male

Sid this is a very nicely captured finch.
Love it's handsome pose.
Very striking photo.

Magnificent photo Medmonds.
Certainly much more than ½ decent.
Thanks for sharing one of Australia's most beautiful birds

Wow, gotta wonder how you got that shot?

Kenny, the nest was located in close proximity to an observation deck.
Happy trails

Juvenile Bald Eagles
Its been a rough season for nesting Owls and Bald Eagles around here.
Many reports of fatalities caused by communities using Rat poison to eradicate their rodent problems.
We were relieved to report this pair of juvenile Eagles appear to be doing fine.
Happy trails.

Torresian (aka Pied) Imperial-pigeon. These large pigeons will soon be heading back to their dry season refuges in Papua New Guinea and Eastern Indonesia, so I thought I'd post a picture of one before they go. While here in northern Australia they gorge themselves on Carpentaria Palm and other fruits, and breed.

Mike, this is a very sharp and well composed portrait of a difficult-to-nail subject. Well done!

Thank you so much, Steve! When you say, "a difficult-to-nail subject," you are 100% correct. My arms were plumb worn out from holding up the camera, and chasing him all over the tree. This is the only image that I kept.

Then it's an A for perseverance as well! :-)
