Juvenile Bald Eagles
Its been a rough season for nesting Owls and Bald Eagles around here.
Many reports of fatalities caused by communities using Rat poison to eradicate their rodent problems.
We were relieved to report this pair of juvenile Eagles appear to be doing fine.
Happy trails.

Two very nice shots of these youngsters, Paul! Sad to hear about the fatalities resulting from the use of rat poison.

Torresian (aka Pied) Imperial-pigeon. These large pigeons will soon be heading back to their dry season refuges in Papua New Guinea and Eastern Indonesia, so I thought I'd post a picture of one before they go. While here in northern Australia they gorge themselves on Carpentaria Palm and other fruits, and breed.

Excellent capture of this Torresian Imperial-pigeon, Pippan. Very attractive shot!

Terrific close-up shot of this Pied-billed Grebe taking a bath, Manny! I think the numerous water droplets scattered about, add appeal to this shot.

Thank you Mike.
The poisoned rodents become increasingly weak, making them easy prey for predators.
Hungry raptors or other wildlife can receive a lethal dose when they feed on the poisoned rats and mice.
