Unfortunately this bird has a fishhook caught in his mouth or throat. He might even have swallowed it much deeper. The fishing line is caught around the branches of the tree, making it almost impossible for him to free himself. Like most of us, I hate to see stuff like this.

Even if the park people try, by boat to approach the bird, it'll panic and probable cause the hook to do more damage.

Nice and an unfortunate capture Mike.
Hopefully they'll be able to cut that fishing line.
We spot many Brown Pelicans and Anhingas with fishing hooks in their wings down here.

Great shots, realairlight! I can't believe the difference between your crow's bills and ours here in the US. The bills on your crows looks like they're strong enough to drive nails.
