Wonderful capture of a lovely bird Mike. Happy trails.

Many thanks, Paul. Your encouraging compliments are always greatly appreciated.

Nice, sharp detail but soft texture which suits a photo of this species well IMO.

Thank you Bill. I value your opinion, and appreciate your encouraging compliment.

Nice, I never photographed the western. The eastern is my favorite songbird.

Thanks, Rob. I've never photographed or seen the eastern bluebird, so we're even on that count. I barely have any hearing left, so my favorite songbird is the Canada goose, ha,ha. :p It's one of the few birds I can hear anymore. They fly over my house daily and I hear their songs many times each day.:-)

This is a beautiful portrait, Mike. It looks so much like our Eastern variety, but after doing some reading, I see that your image clearly shows the difference between the two.

Thank you so much, Steve. To me they are quite similar looking. If I saw the two of them together, I prolly wouldn't know the difference.

Hi Mike...

Great photograph of this colorful bird, and nice feather detail.

Tom

I really thank you for the encouraging compliment, Tom. It means a lot to me.

Beautiful shot, Mike.

Many thanks, Manny!

Lovely shot, Mike. A blue bird against a blue sky is tricky business, but you've done a nice job balancing the different shades.

What a nice compliment, Ken. I really appreciate your thoughtful and encouraging comment.

Tom...this is a different setting from what you frequently use. I really like this beautifully photographed shot.

Great series. I especially like the feeding behavior in the first one.

This mom Great Horned Owl was deep in the nest as crows hung over her on branches making a racket.

Sandhill Crane, Kensington Metropark, Michigan

I love photographing Cranes at the Metropark because they are not scared to death of humans, and let you get as close as you want. . The cranes that visit my area each spring won't let a human approach within 200 yards, so I'll never be able to get such opportunities around home.

Cool shot, Steve! She must get pretty tired of hearing that racket all day long.

Very nice sharp close-up Pippan. The blue colors on the Drongo's shoulders and those vivid red eyes are quite attractive.

Thank you, Mike!

I notice you're from Fresno. . I spent two months around there in the fall of 2020, working on the Creek Fire. . Small world!

What a miserable fire that was! And it really is a small world.

Wow...what a fantastic close-up shot of this Northern Flicker, Mark! I've never been able to get really close to them. Very nice work.
.

Thanks very much LD! I was laying in some grass trying to get low angle shots of some wood ducks and 2 of these dropped out of a tree about 30 feet from me! Super lucky.
