Sandhill Crane, Kensington Metropark, Michigan

I love photographing Cranes at the Metropark because they are not scared to death of humans, and let you get as close as you want. . The cranes that visit my area each spring won't let a human approach within 200 yards, so I'll never be able to get such opportunities around home.

Great portrait Tom! Sandhills are one of my favorites and I look forward to their visit to our area each winter!

Very nice sharp close-up Pippan. The blue colors on the Drongo's shoulders and those vivid red eyes are quite attractive.

Thanks LD, that one was a challenge in the fading afternoon light.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

This mom Great Horned Owl was deep in the nest as crows hung over her on branches making a racket.

Cool shot, Steve! She must get pretty tired of hearing that racket all day long.

Thank you, Mike! Luckily, it's not an all-day affair. The crows head out to forage (maybe at a dump) in the a.m. and return in the p.m. As they pass over the nest they don't miss an opportunity to harass the nesting owl.

Rob...absolutely perfect!

Terrific close-up shot of this drake mallard fotoi! You certainly nailed the sharpness and detail.

Terrific shot, Bill! It's so sharp and clean. The eyes are drawn immediately to to the cardinal, which is so lifelike in appearance.

Wow...what a fantastic close-up shot of this Northern Flicker, Mark! I've never been able to get really close to them. Very nice work.

Terrific shot, Ed! Very appealing.

Congratulations on this photo-lifer Ken! Nice capture, for sure.

Thank you, Mike.

It's so difficult to get a drake and a hen, both in pleasing positions relative to one another, and in the same plane of focus. Slo much must come together in order to get the shot ..... and you nailed it! . Very nicely done.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Nice shot, good job getting them both in focus like that! I always struggle getting more than 1 in focus.
