A lovely pair of Quackers LD.:-)

Thank you, Paul. I'm always very happy when I can get them both in focus.

Lovely shot of this beauty, Ken. Tom, from Arizona has posted a number of them, but as I remember, they were more of a brown color rather than white, like your shot. This really is a pretty looking bird.

A beautiful pair indeed. Great pic Mike, personality plus with the happy drake!

Thanks a million Manny! I really appreciate you very thoughtful compliment.

It's so difficult to get a drake and a hen, both in pleasing positions relative to one another, and in the same plane of focus. Slo much must come together in order to get the shot ..... and you nailed it! . Very nicely done.

.

Tom...what great compliment. I really appreciate your explanation, as far as what it takes to get pairs of birds to come together just right. Only very rarely do I get a shot like this to work out the way I want. I really do enjoy the challenge, even though the keeper rate is miserably low for me.

amyandmark3 wrote in post #19356944 (external link)
Nice shot, good job getting them both in focus like that! I always struggle getting more than 1 in focus.

Thank you very much, Mark! Like you, I struggle trying to get both birds in focus. Only rarely does it work out well for me. It's quite a thrill when it does.:-)

Can any of you experts identify this one for me, please? I'm thinking either garden warbler or chiffchaff, but I'm probably wrong. Many thanks.

I'm not an expert but that is an Eurasian wren Terry

Thanks Mike. My shot is showing mostly the streaked white breast. They're darker on the back, with Buffy flanks. This shot shows the color pattern better, but I didn't like the relative position of that spike.

Thank you, Sid. Looking closely at my bird book, I reckon you are right. It just seemed larger than the wrens I am used to. Thanks.

Thank you and thank you Mike! I rarely see a "bird with food" action shot in person, so I was excited to get a few shots of this cormie with the fish!
