Thanks LD, yeah they're almost luminous in the right light.

On a bright sunlit day, I'll bet you have to wear sun glasses to observe them, Dennis. :p

Beautiful wood duck shot, fotoi! The colors on the water are striking.

Terrific mockingbird capture, Bill! I really like the lighting on this one.

Thanks Mike. My shot is showing mostly the streaked white breast. They're darker on the back, with Buffy flanks. This shot shows the color pattern better, but I didn't like the relative position of that spike.

Thank you for the explanation, Ken. I get your point about the spike...but it's still a terrific shot.

This is such a nice shot of a harlequin duck on the water, Sogs! I've never even seen a wild harlequin duck, and it's definitely on my bucket list.

Thank you LD! I know the feeling. Unless I travel out west or southwest there will birds I'll never see. I've been trying to get a shot of a harlequin for the last couple of years and I finally got one. Their around but I seem to just miss them.

I saw my first long eared owl today! I had my camera with me too but unfortunately it was in my bag on my back and not in my hand. It was raining pretty heavily and I was actually looking for deer antlers at the time. I looked up and we locked eyes for a few seconds, I tried to slowly back out but it spooked and flew away.

So I had to settle for a cropped pic of this rough legged hawk later on who didn’t mind his picture being taken.

Tom...if I were going to have a cardinal image framed to hang in my Livingroom, this is one that I would pick. I like this sort of unusual pose. It's very appealing. Mighty fine photography!

Hi Mike...

Thanks for the wonderful comment. It is very much appreciated. PM me with your address and I'll send you a complimentary 8 x 10 framed canvas print. :-D
