That's quite a beauty Mike, nice shot.
Thank you very much, Paul.

Very well shown, the low angle really makes for a strong composition, and your signature color palette style is demonstrated here nicely, Mike

Were you crouched or in the prone for this capture?
It doesn't matter when people say "it's a dry heat"... 112 is brutal, to the point of being unbearable. I'm miserable over here in our chilly 95, like you I mostly skip these sorts of days. Bring on the Autumn, please.
What an extremely nice compliment, Matt! I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness, and taking the time to comment in such an encouraging manner. I was sitting at the edge of my little pond on a three-legged folding stool, hunkered over my camera (which was near ground level) using my flip screen in live view mode to focus and shoot.
Matt, when we get dry heat over 110, it is truly brutal. Fortunately we generally don't have long runs of heat at such high temperatures. We might get two or three days of it, but usually not much more than that. Now that I'm an old codger, I stay home if the temperature gets much over 100.
I agree with you...lets bring on autumn.
