Looking for a good functioning 5D IV.

As long as the sensor is clean, it has some life left and everything is functioning, I don't mind cosmetics.

Cheap!

I sincerely hope that you receive some offers that are actually reasonable.

FYI, I bought my 5D Mark 4 in December of 2019 for $1500. . It was in excellent condition and came with the original box and all accessories that the factory includes. . The seller had been asking $1600 for it, and no one was interested in it after 2 or 3 weeks, so he offered it to me for $1500.

So if a 5D4 in excellent condition had a fair market value of $1500 a year and a half ago, I would think that you should be able to get one today for significantly less than that. . I am telling you this because I see some folks advertising them (on Craigslist, online for sale forums, and in various other places) for way more than the actual going rate. . I just wanted to make sure that you knew what the real, fair, current selling price is so that you don't mistakenly fall for one of these unfairly priced cameras.

When in doubt, I find that perusing the classified ads on the Fred Miranda forum is usually a good way to see what the real current prices are on used gear, as sellers there seem to be motivated to sell and do not inflate their asking prices beyond reason.

Or, you can go to ebay and do a custom search for "completed listings only", which will give you the prices that the cameras actually sold for. . Just be sure to deduct about 15% to account for the higher prices on eBay, due to the listing fees and commissions that the sellers incur; fees that sellers do not incur when they sell via many other venues.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Hi Tom,

I have been looking for a 5D4 myself. the prices have held steady since when you bought yours which is bit surprising. The lowest I have seen was around 1400, but that was gone before I could get in touch with the seller. I shall keep looking!

CC always welcome.

I bought one in February for 1500. I looked for a while before I found one at that price. Bare bones. Camera, cap and battery. It's my everyday camera now and it's awesome. I've been keeping an eye on prices even after the purchase. Haven't seen another one for 15 although I've seen some where if you asked, they'd probably sell it for that.

Now I feel lucky I sold mine for $1700 with 3rd-party grip. That was on Craigslist in early February 2021. Good luck! I still have the cards for sale if interested.

Yes, the prices are ridiculous.

These were going between 1200 to 1500 about a year ago ... now they want 1800+ ... but it seems like people are buying them.

If I wasn't so heavily invested in L glasses, I would of have jump ship to something to R5/R6 which I have seen for as loe as $3000 and $2050 ....

Or even a Sony 7RIV. I just want a better dynamic range as I oftern shoot sunset/sunrise and it's a pain changing filters with such a quick changing light.

But I be crazy to paying something so high .... that's why I ask for something clean and functional that could look like crap.
