I have tried that but they seem tied to the retina. When I stare straight ahead they will slowly move out of the way but as soon as I move my eyes they are back in the middle.

at least they are just enough off center that when I look through the OVF I don't notice them. But they make it hard to look down the lake for birds

Really sorry to hear about your degenerative condition but, and I may be waaay out of order here, I'm appalled at your families assistance "being on their schedule....as they are busy" vmad
Good to see they appreciate all your sacrifice raising them.

Thank you. I used to play golf 7 days a week until I had 3 boys, then it was 7 holes a year due to Boy Scouts, Soccer, baseball etc. Now that they are grown my arthritic knees won't let me play.

The proof will be in the pudding when I can't drive anymore. Will they step up or not? Time will tell.

The problem right now is that while I can still drive, being careful, working on the PC is really getting tough as I can't always read the screen or see what is happening, I have blink my eyes to move the floaters.

I will deal with it and we will see that the family does.

My eyesight is fetting bad too this year. I have never worn glasses before. Now I need to wear reading glasses and I hate it when I use my camera and staring at the computer...

Ask your eye doctor for a prescription for computer glasses. It will a prescription that is tweaked for the 3-4 ft distance that a computer monitor is typically at. It makes a world of difference.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

That far away? My intermediate glasses are made for a distance of 19 inches. I measured it at home. I use a laptop on a table, if that's significant.

.
My computer monitor is 32 inches from my face here at home where I normally sit when using my computer. I prefer it to be about 10 inches further than that, but there is so much junk on my desk that if I push the computer back away from me, I will cause the tower of junk to topple onto the floor.

At work at the funeral home, where I use a computer a lot, the monitors are about 30 inches from my face. . I push them to the back edge of the desk for two reasons - 40 inches is a more comfortable viewing distance than 20 or 30 inches, and so that I have more room for papers and file folders on the desk between me and the computer.

For me, 19 inches would be a very uncomfortable and unnatural viewing distance. . But I realize that this is a personal choice that varies from one individual to another.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
