I use two cameras regularly, a Canon 1D Mark 4 and a Canon 5D Mark 4.

The 5D Mark 4 gets the bulk of the use, as it yields more fine detail because of having nearly double the pixel count.

But the 1D Mark 4 gets a fair amount of use, especially in challenging situations. . It's autofocus focuses much more rapidly on fast-moving subjects, so I use it when shooting birds in flight that present difficult autofocus targets. . The faster frame rate is beneficial in these situations, as well.

I also like the 1D4 better when I'm out in rain and snow, or on beaches or in salt water, as the weather sealing is much better than that of the 5D Mark 4.

The lenses, I switch back and forth from one body to the other, as best fits whatever it is I am shooting at the moment. . During the course of a day afield, I probably switch lenses from one camera to the other a dozen or more times.

I never thought of always keeping one lens on one body and another lens on the other body - that would really limit the usefulness that I get from the flexibility of having interchangeable lens cameras. . Plus, I have 4 lenses that I use a lot, and only 2 bodies ..... so that modus operandi wouldn't work, anyway.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

You're probably more likely to find people with 2+ cameras on there.

It's likely more rare to have one camera, around here.

I was carting around my 1D Mark III, Fuji X-T1 and Fuji X100S. Now I'm down to just the X-T1 and X100S and I like that duo. I don't like changing lenses, so I like several bodies usually and some bodies just have a feature or something that you want for a specific purpose.

Very best,

My daily kit is a 24-105L on a 6Dii and a 70-300L on a 5Div. It's a whole bag full of kit on 2 bodies.

(I also keep a 400 5.6 on an 80D handy for big reach.)

AE-1 with a 35mm f2 and an F-1n with an 85mm f1.8 oh, wait that was what i usually schlepped (along with a 24mm f2, 50mm f1.8 and a 200mm f2.8, a speedlite, a quantum battery pack, 4 extra rolls of Plus-X, 6 extra rolls of Tri-x, 6 extra rolls of Extachrome 400. assorted BW filters and a couple of polarizers for the different lenses. had 3-4 pens/markers and a notepad and some athletic tape too...

the film is all gone, the battery and speedlite have died, the pens and notepad lost or stolen for other uses and the tape dried up...

now a 5D3 and a 5D4. lenses vary from 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8, 50 f1.4, 100 f2.8L and a 300 f2.8. illumination by a 600ex-rt or three...

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed
