Years back I initiated a poll about RAW conversion programs used to import RAW data, then do edits, before outputting JPG or TIFF files for printing (or to do further manipulation with pixel-level editing software.

With the emergence of more alternatives, I thought it was time to find out what folks are using (and provide opportunity to specific mulitple programs, for those who use them), plus find out about newcomers not included in the poll candidates.

I voted for "Other" but it didn't like me
- use Adobe DNG Converter.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Thx for notification. Trying to figure out how to add entries, like Paintshop Pro, Elements, and to troublshoot the issue with 'Other'

I used to use DxO, but I now shoot Fujifilm and Leica cameras and DxO supports neither.

I primarily use LR Classic. And on very rare occasions ACR.

I've been using Darktable for several years now. Adobe has left a bad taste in my mouth for decades. Long before their cloud scheme. I still have a working copy of CS4 though.

I've been using Darktable for 6 years now, prior to that I was using bibble pro. Have never used an Adobe product as they have never run on my OS!

DPP for me, with PhotoLine and PS plugins running within it for more demanding adjustments on DPP-created TIFFs.
DPP demosaicing quality is hard to beat.

LR Classic as my primary editor until Adobe ever ticks me off. ACR/PS as needed. I'm not that comfy with the cloud yet so I still store all my files locally, which is a requirement of LR Classic. It has been 4 years since going subscription and I have not installed the cloud version - LR. I always use Canon's DPP (quick check - full screen) to pre-cull files before importing to LR.

Pekka,
Polls inconsistently display the 'Edit Poll' button, so other voting choices can be added. Most of the time the button is absent, but occassionally it appears!
And while you can change the order of poll entries when you initially write the Poll, if you later add other choices, they cannot be moved within the sequence (to keep them alphabetically listed).

Lightroom user for years until I recently tried DxO. Why did I wait so long to switch.

I still use Lightroom once in awhile after DxO, but I use DxO for converting my R5 images.

Can you provide a bit of explanation what you love about DxO (compared to LR)?

From my 2 cents when I used PL3. Hard to beat the noise reduction. I sent high ISO files for Prime. DXO put a lot of years into lens corrections so IMO they are better at that than Adobe. Close rival to DPP. However 90% of my shooting is with a telephoto so I don't see a lot (if any) of difference. If you are into into architecture or really critical about landscapes they have a very good perspective app that you have to purchase. It's good for wide angle lenses or even 24mm.

I really hated that they didn't have an adjustment history stack but I think PL4 has one now. I tried out PureRaw but I had purchased Topaz Denoise so that is plenty for now for my needs. I'll revisit PureRaW when they add more sharpening control, which people have requested.

I find the results really great. I still use LR at times. I just don't think Adobe RAW is all that great compared to others. I am also probably going to get DxO PL. I have been testing it and find it really nice to use. I did have to upgrade my memory for 16 GB to 32 GB and now it runs fine. Probably because of the size of the R5 RAW files.

+Mostly use ARC but I have been getting better results with DPP lately.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
