I am a newbie of new system of mirrorless R5 or R6 or R3 and plan t get one of the three. My question is what kind of memory card shall I get? CFast or CExpress? What about a second slot? Thank you.


Body: R6 mirorless
Lenses: RF 24-70 f2.8/ RF 800 f11

Will you be shooting a lot of high resolution video at high frame rates? If not, do not worry too much about getting the absolute fastest memory card.

I don’t know about the R3, but with the R5, Slot 1 is used with CFExpress cards and Slot 2 is for SD-type cards.

The R6 contains two identical SD slots.

CFast is easy, don't! The only Canon stills camera that uses CFast is the 1DX2.
You'll need to decide which camera you are buying before deciding on memory card.
