I just sold a package including a 1DX with two batteries, a Canon 100-400, and a 2x teleconverter. I am unsure how to properly handle the 1DX batteries, as well as the charger. What do you guys do?

Thanks!

the issue is the great heat generated when the terminals of a lithium ion battery are shorted together. You could put electrical tape across the terminals of the batteries, so the terminals cannot be shorted together accidentally during transit. Or put on the battery cover provided with the battery when new, and rubber band the cover to the battery so it will not dislodge during transit.

I recently shipped a camera to another state via UPS. The clerk asked me about the battery. I told him one battery was installed in the camera, the other loose, but with the protective cap on. He said that was acceptable. But I was shipping ground, not by air.

Basically I think you pack one battery into the camera, and wrap/protect the other battery and then your packaging label will iikely have to say something to the effect of ground transportation only, perhaps. There is alot of info in that document.

Very strange...I quoted TeamSpeed's post to see if his link would appear, and it appears to be the same link as included in my post!
...(abbeviated address to prevent blacklist)pe.usps.com/cpim/ftp/pubs/Pub52/pub52.pdf

Why a USPS web page would be blacklisted is truly ODD! Maybe a moderator having a bad day?!
