Hi all,

I recently had the opportunity to acquire a 500 f/4 II for a fair deal from a wildlife photographer friend. He primarily used it either hand held or with a monopod.

I'm old enough that I won't be hand holding it much. I tried it out on my Induro and Benro series 2 tripods and I'm thinking I should upgrade the legs to something a bit more stable.

I have a Jobu Jr 3 gimbal which worked well with the Sigma 150-600C. With the 500, one of my bodies (R5, 5D4, 7D2) and 1.4 or 2 TC, I'm still below the recommended weight for the gimbal, and it seems to move smoothly with that setup, so I'll be using that for now. But my two tripods seem a bit shaky with the heavier lens.

Am I right in thinking I should be using a series 4 or 5 set of legs?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
