Possibly to escape the hurricane, a solitary spoonbill has roamed all the way up to Northern Virginia. Here are some of my favorites from this weekend, zoom in on the second, he's having a snack!

Beautiful photos. The last one is very nice with added reflections

Escape or blown off course?
They do a good job to survive those events.

I noticed another photog from Arlington had shots of a Spoonbill, and I thought he had posted shots from a trip to Florida or something! It's been a sweet year for visiting birds (to include a Painted Bunting last fall).
