It starts with a Gigabyte Z590 AORUS Elite Motherboard.
Intel Core i7 10700K CPU.
Team Group DDR4-3200 RAM. All in hand and installed to MB.
Coming from Core i7-3700K system.
Twin AOC 27-inch 4K monitors, one 50-inch VIZIO 4K TV,
powered by an AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, and it all just works.
LGA-1200 sockets are confirmed to accept LGA-115X coolers,
so no trouble with all else. I have at least 6 backup Cougar-brand fans,
and some Arctic Silver thermal paste.
I may return to a Zalman cooler, which provides downdraft for memory cooling,
making CPU and RAM overclocking potentially simple.
I may overclock to 4GHz or slightly more, while carefully watching thermals.
Meanwhile, please don't try to sell me on a NVIDIA card.
While I realize AMD and Intel are somewhat at odds with each other,
the ATI-cum-AMD graphics have been as stable as long as I've been
with them, circa 1995. So just... don't. Please.
