I've recently acquired the Laowa 25mm macro, and found that extra light would be very useful when working handheld, so I knocked up an adapter for a 12V LED car ring light, and a power pack to run it from a 9V battery (with a boost convertor). If it's useful, you can download and 3D print the parts from:

It seems to give about 3 stops of extra light; which I'm finding can make all the difference.
