the landscape images I'm trying to upload look great on my computer but once uploaded are not sharp and look blurry. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and hope someone can assist me.

Images are edited in photoshop elements, converted from RAW to jpeg and resized from 6225 pixels to 1000 pixels max dimension. Resolution is 300 dpi.

Mods: please move this if there is a better forum for this post .....

This is at least part of your problem. POTNers who know more about the technical side than I do (easy to find such people, as almost everyone qualifies) advised me about the same thing. It turns out that loss of sharpness is related to the ratio between original size, in pixels, and reduced size. The more you reduce an image, the more you have to sharpen it to compensate.

1000 px is pretty small. The maximum allowed here used to be 1024. Now it's 1600. Going down to 1000 isn't necessary for this forum. Of course, you may have other reasons for doing so, such as wanting to conserve digital storage space of your own.

You can try resizing before sharpening and after resizing, then sharpen. Also as OhLook mentions, use 1600 px. Normally what I do is a light sharpen during processing, then resize per output, and the last step is a sharpen as needed in it's intended final size.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
