The Common Scoter, Melanitta nigra is a sea duck and normally seen as a black dot in the waves. Sometimes you strike lucky and one lands on fresh water during migration. This one decided to stop over on the main lake in Roundhay Park, Leeds, which is at least 60 miles from the sea.
