For those with an R5 and primarily still shooters with occasional brief videos, what cards would you recommend for a newbie getting at R5?

Might want to read https://www.canonrumors.co …y-cards-for-canon-eos-r5/ (external link).

More importantly, get your cards from a reliable source. For online, that means a vendor like B&H or Adorama. For a brick and mortar retailer, something like Best Buy

The chart shows the SanDisk Extreme Pro CFexpress card as having a max write speed of 1400 MB/s.
But if you click on the links the card is shown with only 1200 MB/s.

Is there an error in the chart?

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

You have to read the details and the link takes you to a 128GB version. In the text below I've rearranged things for clarity.

About this item

Read speeds of up to 1700MB/s and 1400MB/s write speeds offer low latency during high-speed recording and enhance workflow efficiency far beyond existing SanDisk cards [512GB only;

128GB-256GB = 1700MB/s read / 1200 MB/s write;

64GB = 1500 MB/s read / 800MB/s write].

Up to 1700MB/s read speed; up to 1400MB/s write speed. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending upon host device, usage conditions, and other factors.

You can also go to the Sandisk site (https://shop.westerndigital.com …s-type-b#SDCFE-064G-ANCNN (external link)) and as you click through the various sizes watch the rating on the pictured card change.
