I thought this was a Painted Lady until I saw the images in post. It's an American Lady (or American Painted Lady). I didn't get much of the top, open wing - it was too high and just didn't display that - but the underwing, in my opinion, is the best part. And I thought the close, head-on portrait was a bit unusual. Enjoy.
