I used to shoot with a good friend of mine. He recently turned 80 and it's been 3 years since I've been able to get home and have the time to go shoot (I travel for work). I made it a point to set up a day to hang out with my mentor and shooting buddy. Jerry was an avid medium and large format photographer at one time. He was very good at making silver gelatin prints. I met him at camera club (we don't call it photography club. There's a good reason for it but I don't recall the reason
) after he converted to digital.
We were supposed to shoot large format but in the end he used his camera converted to infrared and the LF gear stayed in the cases. I used my 35mm Canon EOS 1V loaded with Ilford Pan F Plus 50 and an old EOS 1DsMKiii that I had converted to full color IR. I split my time between the two cameras. These are the film images, developed in my kitchen in a Paterson tank, dried in my closet (no windows or vents), and scanned on an Epson V850. The tone change in these surprised me.:
