Just bought a new tripod (Sirui W-2004), and another head (Sirui L-20S).
Anyway, I have always mounted my ARCA plate to the 80D with the plate pointing straight ahead.
This gives a wee bit of the plate protruding out the front and back of the camera body.
No big deal...but I thought that maybe I should mount the plate across ways.
So the longer part of the plate runs along the bottom of the camera.
No wee bit sticking out front and rear, plus maybe the plate is more secure with having the extra grip?
Your thoughts? Do you worry about which way you fit the plate?
The L-20S allows me to mount the quick release clamp either way, so it's a matter of slide the camera in from front/rear, or from either side.
I 'think' the whole setup may be more secure if the plate runs across the bottom of the camera..but happy to be educated about this.
I may also grab an L bracket too one day (probably a SmallRig).
Anything good/bad about L brackets?
Thanks.
