I recently picked up a Canon R5 and have used it for a couple hundred photos with my Canon 800/5.6L lens. I know I haven't used it enough quite yet to form a valid opinion but it seems that the AF is front-focusing. I believe this is both with spot AF and with animal eye AF. Whenever the bird's head is set further back than its body, the focus falls on its body...and when taking photos of a gull with a bit of fish jerky it was trying to swallow the fish jerky was in sharp focus, while the eye was not (the bird was facing me a bit, so the fish was closer to me). Any suggestions on settings I need to tweak? I am in SERVO fwiw.

With the mirrorless all this front and back focus should be non-existent. So not sure what your issue is.
Secondly, there is a R5 thread, you should post it there than opening entirely a new thread.
