There hasn't been much activity around home for weeks, so I took a 2-day drive into Cape Breton to see if I could find a moose. Boy, did I find a moose, or rather, several Moose.

They're beautiful wildlife photos Ian
Lovely to see.
Love the rich colours and light
The look in that mooses eyes don't exactly look friendly.
Wouldn't want to meddle with that beautiful beast.

Thank you! You’re very right, they seem unthreatening and calm, but the rut is on right now and the bull moose are all looking for a mate, and they can get real cranky if you get in their way. I don’t want to get in the way of a 1200 lb moose.

Two or three years ago a coyote actually killed a single female hiker in this immediate area, but this one was pretty calm.
