This is Bury, Lancashire, UK. The statue is of a son of the town, Sir Robert Peel, who founded the UK's police force. Police became known as Peelers. The pub is named after him, too.

They have built a distillery 5 minutes walk from my house...

It will be 5 years before I can sample their product, but I look forward to the day. It's far from a traditional design. They squeezed it onto a small space at the end of the dock where the late queen's floating holiday home, the Royal Yacht Britannia is parked-up...
