13 ships anchored north of the St. Clair river on Lake Huron. I dont recall why they were anchored and waiting but probably weather related

Okay, let's see what we have. Uncharacteristically I feel like commenting on every photo submission this time (this may be a good thing, maybe it's not). Let's get in to it.

Rob (RDWP) - About 238,855 miles
There's a lot to like about this image. Well-exposed distant Sun against an interesting cloudy sky, and the Sun's reflection in the water. I stared and stared at the horizon line because I thought it was crooked but it wasn't (maybe my head's askew). Great image Rob!

Don (Old Crow) - Entrance is far down the road
Nice leading line image.

Martin (Stiga) - no title
Nice landscape image. I found the foreground to be a little underexposed and my eye is drawn to the foreground (not far) instead of the background (far).

(Happygav) - Ready for harvest. Local Landscape
I would have LOVED this image if it wasn't for the dad-gummed power lines. Great clouds dominating the majority of the space, an interesting high-tech subject juxtaposed against the beauty of nature, and then those :-x power lines!

(Ltdave) - 13 ships anchored north of the St. Clair river on Lake Huron
My eye is drawn to the unattractive foreground (not far), but I do like the tree. Then there's the wall/post on the left. This feels like a straight out of camera image with zero post-processing. Unfortunate given the high-quality camera and lens.

(InPhoto) - untitled
Oil tanker or freighter off in the distance with a 3-masted sailing ship in the foreground. Silhouettes good! I like the old ship versus new ship, but I feel like the old ship (not far) dominates over the new ship (far).

Rob (RDWP) wins this competition and an Honorable Mention goes to Happygav for the #$&* power lines. Congrats!

Roger

yeah, it was a stretch to say the least. i was trying to give some reference with the wall (actually a lighthouse) to the distance at which they were anchored...

i put quite a bit of editing into this due to the crappy misty/overcast/despicable weather but no offense taken :-)

That may have been made more apparent to the viewer if more of the lighthouse was visible. I've seen (and liked) a lot of your other work so hang in there, I'm sure to like something!

Look on the bright side, at least there weren't any @#$% power lines in the shot! :p
