Hello all,

Can anyone recommed a shop or an engineer who can do a thorough evaluation for repairs/damage? I'm in the West Palm Beach, FL area and willing to travel a good distance for the right person.

TIA, Ethan.

If this is in relation to the auto accident that you had, and you want an official report/invoice for any damage repair, then I think your best bet may be to send the gear to the manufacturer for a "check and clean" service. During an x_point check and clean, any damage should be found and documented, and an estimate given for the repair of said damage.

One thing of note that may be pertinent to your situation:

I was in a high speed, head-on collision in 2015. All of my bodies and lenses were in the car at the time of the crash. None of it was in any kind of bag or case. The lenses and bodies were just setting on the front seat and the back seat, as they usually are. The crash caused them to be flung forward with great force, and they struck whatever was in front of them with impact. There was no damage whatsoever to either of the 2 bodies, and no damage whatsoever to any of the 4 lenses. All of the gear continued to work great for years afterwards.

Cameras and lenses are a lot tougher than many people seem to think ... and that is good news for the insurance company of the at-fault driver, because they likely won't/shouldn't be liable for any compensation to you for the gear. And it's great for you because there likely isn't anything wrong with any of your gear!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
