I'll allow late posts from you just to see a storm!! Please!!
We will be lucky just to get a couple of drops down here in the desert.

I understand your enthusiasm. It's been pretty droughty here up north until this week. Tim's area expects very heavy rain this weekend. I'm farther south, where rain is predicted to be considerable but less than that. Not much has happened so far. Some moisture fell between 5 and 7 P.M., enough to wet the pavement but too little to be heard inside the house.

Cloudy most of today, but around 11 this morning, there was a period of sketchy sunlight. I took advantage of it. This year I have one Anise Swallowtail chrysalis overwintering (some years it's more). In this life stage, the creature seems to be at rest even though the parts you don't see are busy transforming from caterpillar to butterfly.

joayne, just for you, here's a shot of our storm at about 1 P.M. today, through a window. Wind and rain. An hour later, the power did go out for two hours. That's always a fun adventure.

Total rain so far today (it's 7 P.M.), measured at a nearby Weather Underground station, is over 3 inches.

Acorns at rest on the ground. They were knocked out of the oak trees by the storm that continues unabated this evening. My rain gauge says we got 7.6 inches of rain since midnight. Power went out and we've been running on backup generator power since 6 a.m. and the creek behind our house is over the banks and flooding the "lower 40." No worries, our house is well above that. Fun times. :rolleyes

Glad to hear you are high and dry. Is the Donkey ok, or have you brought her into the house? :p
