I framed up this shot of the Pelican on the rock, stopped down the lens to bring focus to the smoke stacks on the other side of the bay, and waited for something to bring the scene to life. After a short time a Seagull came along and started harassing the Pelican, which tossed its head back in a defensive posture as it tried to shoo it away. If you look closely there is also a small fish in the Pelican's pouch.
