I've had a recent issue with Capture One where one of my lenses was being wrongly detected as another. I reported the issue to tech support, and the problem was fixed almost right away, and now my new imports are all accurate in terms of metadata.

However, files that I had already imported are still misdetected as another lens. I figure that if I import them again (and then copy-paste all changes to the newer files), they'll be just fine, however I'd rather not have to do this, and wondered if there was a way. I tried searching the web a bit, albeit without much success. I think there's a metadata file in the Capture One sidecars, but haven't experimented too much with that, and though I might ask if someone had previous experience before going into time-consuming experiments.

Capture One has a Facebook group, you might try asking there.

Not sure if this would help but you could try right clicking on the thumbnail and selecting "sync metadata". That may re-read the image file for meta data and update it. There is also an option to reload that might be another option to try.

Otherwise,
If you use SESSIONS you'll want to find the "xxx.cos" file corresponding to the image (where xxx is the file name) in the "capture one" folder within the folder your image is in.
For example: Machine>c:>Pictures>Session>CAPTURE>CAPTURE ONE>SETTINGS100
(settings folder may have a different number at the end Settings100, settings141 etc...)

Open the COS file in a text editor something like Metapad is easiest otherwise you may need to rename as .TXT save and rename back to .COS once you're done. In here toward the top you'll find a line similar to:

<E K="Camera_Lens" V="Schneider Kreuznach LS 110mm f/2.8" />

this is what you want to change everything between V=" and the closing parenthesis.
Easiest would be to copy the line from a COS file with the correct info. then save the file.

I haven't tested it but that should work though you may need to close and restart or that might be what the reload option is for.

If you use a CATALOG I'm guessing its the same only the COS files maybe kept somewhere else.
