Are Flashpoint transmitters like the R2 Pro, or other, backward compatible? I just ordered an R2 Pro for my XPLOR 600 and v850ii lights. But I'm wondering if the R2 Pro is backward compatible with older units like this one that inserts into the side of Flashpoint 360 streaklights.

I've just used Phottix Odin over the years and don't know.

It should be. That appears to be the purpose of that unit you linked. The Flashpoint transmitter is compatible with all Godox/Flashpoint R2 2.4ghz devices.

Thanks.

That page link confirms further the description of the Amazon page. Apparently that bridge receiver will work for my needs.

You need the X series of receivers and not F

I didn't realize they had gone. That would suck!

EDIT, on the front page it looks like the 2nd most recent article is 2019.. how did I miss that? The Sept 1 2021 article is just about shopping deals.. looks like it's just the old material and a way to monetize traffic. What a shame.

I was more reading the "R2" part

The R2 TTL Wireless Flash System is the advanced 2.4GHz radio remote

I do find XPro transmitters too, upon searching. The ones I'm seeing are Godox brand models. When searching for "Flashpoint" XPro transmitters, I can't find those. The transmitter in the OP link is branded under the Flashpoint name.

I'm sure you know this but, "R2" is Adorama's own branding of the Godox products. Godox does not use "R2", they call it "X series" but the X and R2 are the same, and fully compatible.

I have mixed and matched because I bought some stuff used, but new I buy from Adorama, better and easier to access support, sometimes faster firmware updates, and a few unique additions. Plus great sales of you wait for them!

The Flashpoint R2 (XTR16) unit arrived today.

Works like a charm. At first I thought the USED unit I got from Adorama did not work, or was a mistake to buy. Then I re-watched the video where I first learned of it, then noticed the guy put all toggles at the down position. Once I did the same thing, the lights adjusted power accordingly as I rolled the dial on the Flashpoint Pro R2 controller. I got an E+ used for $11.00 + $3.75 shipping

The R2 Pro (XPro) is compatible with the XTR16 receiver, but if you're using the XTR16 receiver on an AC-powered Godox monolight, the power control might be a little wonky, according to elv of Flashhavoc. The older AC powered strobes without built-in radio are designed to do power adjustment by percentages, not ratios.

Uh... I'm getting 404 errors... (sigh). I really hope it's just down to clean out all that malicious linking crap in Google search results.
