The RF 100-300mm will improve the zoom range to 140-420mm! The 140mm on the wide side will make a huge difference for me. If the AF/IQ with the 1.4xTC are even better than the 200-400mm it is an absolute winner for me. I'd be very happy with on par . Added bonus: ~ 1 Kg weight reduction!

You will love the image quality

holy moly, Rob. What IS mode are you using for all these slow SS images, 1, 2 or 3? Just awesome sharpness at 1/20 and 1/60, etc

Thanks, only mode 1 so far.

The RF 100-300mm has arrived!

It is much more compact than I had realized. Feels really light as well. I can't take it out for a test right now, maybe later in the early evening or tomorrow morning. However, the size is awesome, and I think I have a new "Ultimate travel kit"

Just home following a week on the Isle of Man at the annual TT races. Terrific weather and some hectic action. It was manic as usual. R3 performed well despite some serious heat haze on occasions.

Thanks Dennis - Michael Dunlop had just jumped Ballaugh Bridge and was heading straight at the Raven pub wall where they were sitting.
He's been getting very close to walls and using all the road this week to try and keep his speed to the max. Sometimes gets a little hairy for anyone watching or taking photos.
