Does anyone use any of the other picture styles on their Canon cameras? I guess I have always left it set to auto or to monochrome. What subjects to you change it for?

Thanks for any insights.

I use standard when shooting but often move it to landscape in LR now that they have the camera settings

Picture styles only affect the OOC JPEGs and the imbedded JPEG in the RAW file. They have no effect on the RAW data, though they can be emulated in DPP.

I'm not fan of .CR3 files on RP and absence of smaller .CR3 sizes, have no choice but use JPEG1 often.
Fine detail with increased saturation, decreased contrast and some tweaks in sharpness.
I like monochrome with red, orange or yellow filter enabled.

I do most (not all) of my shots with the SOOC JPEG. I might have to try the different styles for comparison sake.

I haven't consistently shot in SOOC JPEG in quite a while, primarily because I don't need to get images published in a hurry, not to mention the editing process is half the fun for me. With that said, having played around with all of the profiles, I feel the Neutral setting allows the most flexibility in editing JPEG afterwards. If you aren't planning to do any editing for exposure or color, Faithful seems best suited for people/portraits, Landscape best for (you guessed it) landscapes, and Standard for just about everything else. Definitely a matter of personal preference.

Thanks for that information. I will occasionally do some mild editing/PP on Apple Photos for JPEGS. I might have to try the neutral setting
