i never expected to be in the 2nd running. i just posted to add to the selection in case some one wandered by and wanted to see what everything was all about!

i liked 'Crow's frozen grass but Manetti's cold PERSON is the only image that lets us know its cold. everything else is inanimate and they dont know cold from hot...

I remember taking that picture, which was the first click after walking out the door. It was really only meant to be a snapshot to see if my shutter speed was going to show the movement of the blowing snow. At the moment, a plow truck had turned the corner and the light just happened to land perfectly on my wife's face. Fun night. Not so much the next morning digging out.

I will continue the competition with a new thread, #686...
