I have been seriously thinking about doing some more macro work, having done a LOT with film about 20 years ago. I used to own a dedicated macro lens for my Canon manual focus camera sytem, and enjoyed the new world it opened up for me, with its endless possibilities.
I have used the macro function on the G6 a few times, and it seems to work well. The supermacro is quite intimate and I recognize it as a digital zoom, but its optics seem fine. Do I really need to look at the 250D close-up lens as this would give me greater working room and would it allow me to get even a bit closer? Is it worth spending the $150 CDN or so? My present results are fine, just wondering if I could do better.
Opinions, please.
